Don't panic! Freaking out and worry will only add to your concern.
Two thoughts:
1. Go to the local drug store and buy some Epsom salts. Find a container that can hold some water and fill it with as warm as you can stand water. Mix in about 1/2 cup per gallon of water of Epsom Salts. Soak your foot in the water/salts mixture for about 20 minutes. The warm water/salts mix may help work out whatever is in there IF anything is.
2. Go to your college healthcare clinic and have them look thoroughly at your foot they may see something that you can't by torking your foot around.
It could be anything at this point or NOTHING at all too. The skin on the bottom of the foot is pretty thick and pretty tough so it's unlikely that anything went so far up that it can't be seen or found. As you said, there would also be blood at the point of entry.
If I were you, I'd soak it over a few days, monitor it now and then for any obvious visual changes and try to be seen at the college health clinic.
