I have had an on and off burn or sting type pain high up in my vagina (about 1 o'clock in region) since I was travelling south america 6 years ago. I had this pain for 3weeks while travelling undiagnosed not realising what it is, the only symptom I had was pain, no discharge/odour or itch and I it didnt seem to be my bladder.
The pain is very specific to a certain spot and it seems to come on few days after sex, like it has irritated it enough to flare up! I do not have this pain while having sex only few days afterwards! and all I get is this burning pain like someone has put salt on a wound. I have had investigations and all the swabs are normal, my vagina looks healthy and they cant seem to see anything in my vagina, except a very small spot which looks like nothing they say.
Sometimes if I have used a vibrator couple times it will flare up then too and the pain will come on. It does eventually go but only once i stop having sex and can take 2 weeks to resolve. My doctor might do an ultrasound to try to look further so we will see if this brings any light.
Anyone out there experienced a similar thing?? Im right out of ideas and its driving me crazy! I now have a regular partner so obviously it is effecting our sex life. help!
