Default Completely exhausted during the day at 17 years old?

By around 3:00 AM I am usually so exhausted I fall asleep and this prevents me from getting things done such as my highschool correspondance coursework, things I need and want to do etc. during the day. Even when I was younger and had a paper route I experienced this same fatigue after school and would often be late delivering papers. Some facts:
    - I get 5 to 8 hours of sleep
    - When I wake up I jump rope for 30 min, do weight training and then go hiking for usually 3 to 5 hours
    - Diet consists of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seafood exclusively, sometimes chicken
    - I start feeling tired after I have my lunch which I usually eat around 1 or 2 PM, it's never a huge meal just some nuts and a fruit/veg or something similar
    - I eat breakfast which is usually a fruit or a vegetable and herbal tea
    - I take supplements including B12, vitamin D, vitamin E, a multivitamin, vitamin C during flu/cold season, and just recently started taking magnesium

Does anyone have an idea what is causing this or if this is a certain condition? Is there anything that I can do to increase energy/eliminate fatigue be it different food choices, a supplement, or something I need to see the doctor about, etc. Thanks.

Uhhh.... Wow. Depression? I really don't know with the fact that you're so active. That's about what I'm thinking, wake up = 30min jump rope. Weight training. 3 to 5 hour hike?? *dies* I would be like, in a coma for a week after that! Lol. Maybe you just do TOO much!! I sleep 8-12 hours and do nothing all day, with barely enough energy to read a book! Bahaha, I have no concern for you other than that you're crazily active. ^_^

you're wearing yourself out. the amount of sleep you get does not agree with your physical activities (i.e. jumping rope AS SOON AS you get up) you may even be missing some important nutrients in your body. try taking vitamins. i started taking them when i began experiencing the same things you are. vitamins are supposed to give you energy . . ..avoid sugar-filled products such as Red Bull and other energy drinks (not sure about the 5 hour energy intake) try to maybe cut down on the physical activity. but not TOO much to where you're neglecting it. and get more sleep! appropiate sleep is the first step to great energy. and eat breakfast in the morning (if you don't already) it'll help you focus! And p.s., i'm sure i'd be extremely tired at 3 a.m. in the morning too. you should be asleep by then. Good luck!

You have zero carbs and/or fat in your diet. Im no nutritionist by any means, but I am active and there is noway that I could do my exercise on your diet without collasping. Have a look on the internet to calculate how many carbohydrates, proteins, fats etc that you should be having.

How do you sleep? You should be aiming for eight hours every night, five really isnt enough. If you have difficulty sleeping, there a few things that you can do to help this - keep bedtime regular and wake up at the same time everyday, make sure that you have 'wind down' time at least an hour before sleep, keep your bedroom dark and quiet, no television in there!

I think that the nutritional balance of your diet is why youre so tired. If you can, see a nutritionist. Carbs give us energy and you have very little in your diet.
