    Unhappy Twitching...

I've been having a small painless twitch in my vagina....it never hurts, it just feels like a twitch you get in your eyelid or your fingers or something.
i'm 17 and i'm a virgin and i've never been to a gynecologist or anything and i'm terrified of going...i just wanna make sure this isn't serious or anything.
it has been happening a little over a week, not all the time. just every now and then for a few seconds or a minute and it may come and go for a while and some days i go without it, i think. it's not that noticeable it's just annoying.
it happened a day or two before i had my period and now i'm done (since yesterday) but it happened a few times today.
is this serious? i'm really scared but i am a hypochondriac so...please help if you can. i'm scared.

It sounds like just a muscle spasm. You have a ring of muscles at the end of your vagina at the opening. Minor spasms aren't anything to be concerned about if it isn't painful, they usually go away on their own.

Why are you afraid of going to the gyno? You're going to have to eventually, they need to make sure everything is healthy and normal. Many things can be treated if caught early enough, so this really isn't something you want to avoid until something goes wrong.

I think Kristalyn is right, its probably a spasm. Doing some exercises such as kegels which involve tightening and relaxing the vaginal muscles may help.

    Thanks
I don't even like wearing the paper gown when I have check ups at the regular doctor. I'm just excessively private about myself. I wish I wasn't, but that's just how I am, unfortunately. ;/ I hate all these responsibilities of being a girl. I rather be a gay man haha.

Guys get things visually inspected and handled regularly as well. They also need std testing. Eventually they get to have prostate exams.

Find a female OB-GYN if that helps. This is also the time for you to discuss with her about BC and protected sex.
