Has your doctor diagnosed this as ulcers/canker sores instead of cold sores? There isn't much you can do for cold sores since they are a virus which has to be suppressed by the immune system. Stress on the immune system will cause them to appear. There are a few over the counter treatments you can apply to help them go away faster and your doctor may be able to help. For canker sores avoid irritating foods like citrus, acidic, or spicy things and chewing gum. Keep your mouth clean and disinfect the sores. Hydrogen peroxide makes a good mouthwash but don't over do it or it can damage your teeth. If you want to apply it more than once a day dilute it or apply directly to the sores and then rinse it off when you are done so it doesn't sit against your teeth. Taking some vitamins can help and the best place to start is a multivitamin to make sure you are getting everything in the correct amounts. I don't suggest supplementing vitamins without taking a multivitamin as a base or talking to a doctor/nutritionist since you can throw things out of balance by taking too much of something and not enough of something else. The b vitamins and iron are the most suggested for canker sore problems though. Also if you have other symptoms such as digestive tract problems testing for food intolerances or allergies can help.
