Why does my baby has so many problem? At first he had the fever and then the Roseolla. Then it went away after a few days. Now he has a thing on his butt cheek and it is hard and purplish color. I don't know what to do any more. My wife and I is panicking and don't know what to do. Right now we are yelling and cuss everyone in the family on what happen to our baby. The doctor is here is right now. She can't do anything. She gave me some medicine to make it feel better in 10 days. Now its Friday and his check up is next week. She said we might need surgery. What should I do please help? I'm worried.

Just follow the doctor's orders. If the doctor gave you medication then they aren't doing nothing. Give the medication and see if things improve before the next appointment. If things get worse or the fever goes over 102F then call the doctor about going in sooner or seek emergency care.

Some children are just sick a lot when young. We don't always know why. Other things are completely normal childhood illnesses. Most children get roseolla, cold sores, chicken pox, etc... while very young. It develops the immune system so they don't get even sicker from these things later.

Oh. I see. What is this Immune system? What does it mean? Can you explain it to me since you're a mom already? We are following the doctors order with the medication. We gave 3/4 of the medication and later he threw it all up or diarrhea. He has no fever right now. Its is normal. Is head is not as hot as it used too. Now its just normal. Well thanks for your help kira. I hope we won't have a panic attack when we see the doctor next week. Especially me, I don't know how to take care of children I'm just a regular college student couldn't care nothing. Sigh. Oh well. I hope everything goes fine in the end.

What is this Immune system? What does it mean?
The immune system in extremely simple terms is the part of your body that works to prevent you from getting sick. It involves certain types of cells that watch for things like bacteria, or viruses, that can make you sick and attacks them if those things enter your body. When you are sick it is your immune system reacting to something that has gotten into you, like when you catch the common cold, all the stuffy nose the coughing all the yucky stuff means your body is reacting to the cold virus and it is trying to get it out of your body as fast as possible. Being sick means your body is healthy, and it is doing what it should to get the icky bugs out.

In again extremely simple terms, your immune system has a memory of everything that has ever attacked you, all colds, all flu bugs, anything in your daily life. With the memory you get sick, and your immune system remembers what made you sick and you will never be ill from that same thing again. When people say "children have to be sick in order to build up tolerance" it means the child must be sick in order for the immune system to memorize what attacked so that it never attacks again. However there are lots and lots of different kinds of things that make you sick so it will feel like you are always sick but really it is just a new type of virus or bacteria or other sickness that keeps attacking. Each time something attacks your immune system gets slightly better at fighting things off.

Keep doing what the doctor says, they know what they are doing with young children.
