Could you have been bit by something or have you been doing any heavy lifting? Best thing to do is go to a doctor. It's the only way to know what is really going on. We can only guess what it could be, a doctor will know.
ok so a week ago i noticed that my lower back, on my spine, started to hurt. now though it has swelled and feels like there is fluid in the area and it hurts to touch it. also today i noticed that the area has turned a bright red. does anyone know what this could mean and what i should do?????

well c i dont think it is a bite cuz it is the size of my palm
Seeing a doctor is important. Your spine is one area you just don't want to mess around with. Could be something totally minor, but wouldn't it be best to know so you don't have to worry? See a doctor hun.![]()

ok well i rlly dont drink many sodas but i jus had a few swallows of mountain dew nd now im havin sum pain n my lower stomach/bladder are. any idea?
That is an odd location for swelling and I wouldn't think a bite from anything would take that long to swell unless it caused a secondary infection. Have you taken your temp? If you have a fever I would not wait for a doctor appointment since it would indicate a potentially serious infection. I think I would also avoid caffeine until a diagnoses seeing as lower back pain can be a kidney problem and you just felt sick after drinking the soda with the highest amount of caffeine in it. When presented with a mystery health problem skipping the caffeine is rarely a bad idea. While small amounts have benefit constant caffeine intake is really bad for your health and hard on your body.
You sure that it is simply not a bruise? Did you fall down? Bump into something? If that is a bite it would fill with fluid, it would be super red with inflammation, but it would not start hurting a week ago and continue to now. A bite would be right then and there, it would hurt for a day, and if bad enough with a particular species of insect you would have been dead. With swelling, redness, and fluid retention it is more likely an infection. Maybe a scrape which got infected and as a result is now a large area on your spine. If it keeps hurting you will need to get it checked out by a doctor though.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
