I dont post on here a lot, mostly because I forget that I even have an account

Anyway, back in... January? February? I had some blood work done because I had told my doctor about some pain Id been having. Since early high school, maybe a little earlier, I have had very tender muscles in my thighs, and in the last 2 or 3 years my hips have started bothering me, the left more than the right. I also have had ungodly heel pain when I wake up in the morning. Anyway, the blood work showed an elevated rheumatoid factor. I saw a rheumatologist in May, and the preliminary diagnosis was Fibromyalgia. The doctor put me on Bupropion (Wellbutrin generic), which I had an allergic reaction too--it made me itch like I was coming off of Morphine. They replaced it with Amitriptyline (Elavil generic), which made me so snappy and bad-tempered that I stopped taking it--I was biting people's heads off, and I work in the public, where I cant afford to do that. I was also sent to have more blood work and xrays. My doctor's office called Monday to say that the blood work shows I have a Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 deficiency; Im on 1000 IU of D every day, and 1000 mcg of B12 3x a week. I go back next Tuesday (6/28) to see about the xrays.

Anyway, my question is: is anyone else having these kinds of issues? Or any rheumatoid disease? Im kind of in the dark. I dont know if theres a diet or regimen of any sort. Help?

Jaden at least you found us again

Fibromyalgia is not an easy thing to diagnose.

You feel like you have no strength in your muscles and in using them it hurts, you feel that, that particular area is inflamed and often you gain cronic fatigue from having it as well as myofacical pain.

It is also much like arthritis and fish oil I believe is good for that as well as alot of stretching so those muscles don't get tight, a polities ball is great for this without doing damage as weights could do with such an injury/illness

I have had this for 12 years, I don't take drugs, wheat bags heated, water, stretching, are important....

    CW,

Have you ever had severe itching with it? The last week or so, Ive had parts of my body start itching--like coming off of morphine (had it once for a broken shoulder is how I know). Most of the time its my head or my back, but last night it was my feet and hands/palms. It was so bad it kept me awake all night. I was really upset, and it actually made me cry because I couldnt make it stop. Tried Claritin, Hydrocortisone cream, benadryl cream, and finally popped two benadryl pills and passed out. Its so frustrating!!!

I'd say that your body reacts to certain medicines, the ingredients in those medicines seeing as you have experienced this before with Bupropion...I'd check what ingredients were / are in that and compare to what you are taking now even the creams, something there you are alergic to...

The only itching I have ever had is mosquito bites or flea bites

Well, I went back to the doctor today, and she said it could be that something they use as a bonding agent or whatnot for the B12 or the D supplements she had me start taking could be causing a reaction. I doubt it, because as I look back I realize that this all started even before I was taking the bupropion. And I have never had any problem with hydrocortisone or benadryl before. My doctor also had me have more blood drawn to check for celiac disease.

But all my other previous blood work was clean, and my xrays normal, so at least theres a bit of good news.

Anyone else have any other advice?
