    hi
would like to know what does this supposed to mean if you get this as a result from your doctor as a man: does this mean that you were infected?

The result came out like this:
    Chlamydia Igg - 0.2 Reference <1.1
    Chlamydia Iga - 0.3 Reference <0.9
    Gonorrhea <1:5 Reference <5

    Pau,

According the the Wik (5) is a medical term meaning "specific cause has not been identified", and in this case refers to the detection of urethritis, and the testing for but found negative of gonorrhea.

But don't take that as gospil perhaps ItsASecret knows the Doctor's terms .... I'll bring this up if she doesn't see it...

These tests indicate the presence of antibodies against the infection, it does not give a definitive diagnosis that someone has a disease. It only says whether or not the body has come into contact with Chlamydia, gonorrhea and so forth at some point in their lives. The IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE are specific antibodies that are produced when you have an infection and once produced they stay in the body for life incase the infection arises again. Reference levels mean the values at which classifying an infection is used. Below reference means low antibody count, meaning the body is not currently fighting off any sort of Chlamydia or gonorrhea infection. The thing with STDs and STIs is that they can lay dormant in you for years, your body will make antibodies, and then you show no symptoms so you will be infected but have no idea that you have anything. This is the case for many people, so having the antibodies only means that at some point your body saw the infection and produced the defense against it (the antibodies). So there is the chance you had an infection in the past but never knew, and now you have low levels of antibodies for the body's future use. If you were currently infected the antibody count would be sky high, however it is again not used to absolutely diagnose someone it is just used as reference material for further testing.
