My girlfriend has a large problem of developing Olvarian Cycsts. She is always in pain and once one ruptures she already has a another one. It's an endless battle for us. Her Doctor says there is no way to stop or controll them but I find that a little hard to believe. Does anyone have any personal experiences they can suggest to help us out? Removal is out of the question because we are both still young and want to have kids one day.
Ouch... I'm so so sorry. My sister has this issue. The first time it happened they thought her appendix had ruptured. She's been in the hospital a few times because of the risk of infection when the fluid doesn't get absorbed and flushed through her body quickly enough. As far as I understand, her ovaries are getting pretty scarred from it. I believe she tried hormonal birth control and I think it helped a bit.. but the side effects, to her.. were worse than going through the cyst issues.
Besides seeing another doctor and getting a second opinion and I don't know how comfortable either of you would be with it... but it might be worth looking into... maybe see if a naturopath can help... they'd probably do some blood work to check hormone levels.. might be able to give her the names of some herbs to try and regulate things... or maybe look into acupuncture.
I was told a number of things I had. At first it was an ovarian cyst, and it was benign, later he told me I had cancer. So after the chemo another doctor told me I had a dermoid cyst (pregnancy gone wrong). I was so angry and confused. All these different doctors telling me and my family different things. But I successfully completed two treatments of chemo, lost my hair, gained a scarred stomach, and a lost right ovary. But I'm better now. But my last trip to my gyno, he found another cyst on my left ovary. I saw it on the screen as well. He said it should go away in a month or so. He didn't seem to, how do I say...care or worry about it. So I'm scheduling one this month. I just hope it's gone and didnt grow. But I hope your friend finds a specialist or someone who can help resolve it. But I did read somewhere that cysts can be caused while in the mothers womb.
