So, I've been having a really difficult time trying to fall asleep lately. I know it's not healthy, but I've just been taking benedryl to get me to fall asleep. I have been more stressed out than usual. With work, figuring out how to get back in school and pay for it, my wedding to plan, along with a bridal shower for a friend to plan. I know it's because of stress but if anyone can give me some good tips on trying to clear my mind before I try and fall asleep that would be great.
I have pretty bad anxiety but i don't take anything for it for certain reasons. I've gotten really good at controlling it for the most part. Since I've had it for almost 5 years with no medication.
So any helpful tips would be great.

I think everyone's got like a little favorite thing they do to help relax. For me it's hot scented baths with wine and a book. Otherwise drinking tea, watching my favorite show, going for a long walk or run. So once you find something that works for you, do it as often as possible!

Also if I get stressed out with work (which is pretty much always, these days) I remind myself to just take it one day at a time. If I think too far ahead I can get overwhelmed.

I like iTunes. You can find cd's for sleep and iPhone apps to listen to. They help you relax. That is just one suggestion. You'll find your way and it will become your practice. Meditation is another option. Youtube has some nice meditations to follow along with before bedtime.

    Hope this helps.
