Unhappy Tender Spot in Upper Right Back....need relief!

    Hello,
Sometime back in June of this year I had sudden pain in my upper right back (basically directly under where your bra strap would be) that my doctor said was a strained rhomboid muscle. He gave me one of those bands to do stretches with, a couple of cyclobenzaprines, told me the X-rays were unnecessary, and sent me on my way. We figured the pain was caused by either an event where I was pulling myself up on to a platform with my right arm (I hear something pop, or tear, but the pain came about a week after that...) or the fact that I had been wearing awful shoes to work for about a week before the pain began. After the Dr's appt. I had a week vacation off from work, and the pain seemed to almost go away.
Once I got back to work and back into everyday life, the pain came back but totally different. It seems like it is just one small spot on my back that hurts deeply when pressed. The skin on top of that spot gets itchy and almost burns at times...usually when the band of the bra strap is really irritating it. I'm only 21, and cannot even fathom living the rest of my life with this back pain.
I'm not sure what DR to go to. I'm not sure what kind of imaging would be needed for this. I don't even have any idea what it could possibly be. I'm assuming something muscular, but who knows. I'm trying not to think of other awful things it could be...
Anyone who has ever suffered with this before, or knows what it could potentially be...any answers would be appreciated!

Do you add pressure on your back while you work? It sounds work related. Maybe if you changed your posture at work? Back pains can be caused by anything, even stress. Since you didn't have it while on vacation then it cannot be serious, but something you do/feel at work must be causing it.

Do you wear specific clothes, does it require physical strength, do you sit for too many hours in a certain position etc.

I think you have a vacation from work. Maybe a week or two to relax your body. After all, it is a long term condition especially, you are only 21 yrs old. It is also good to improve your posture maybe because you are applying too much pressure on you aching part of your body.
