Default Is this really a yeast infection?

I've had this problem for over a year now, on and off. I have severe itching and sometimes burning and pain around the outer walls of my vagina. It can last for weeks on end and then suddenly stop with no cause. It used to follow a pattern with my period. It would start itching again right after my period but while I was bleeding, it would stop. Now it can last throughout my period as well. When it first started, it only lasted a few days but it's gotten worse as time goes on. I've tried to treat it myself with washing, changing my underwear and liners multiple times a day, someone even suggested I put cornstarch in my underwear. They all provided temporary relief but with my most recent bouts, nothing has helped. The cornstarch has actually been the remedy that provides the most relief. But even now, the effect is miniscule compared to the itching.

I thought it might be a yeast infection so I bought some Vagisil Medicated Wipes. They are supposed to provide immediate relief but they do nothing. I am constantly experiencing an itching sensation that is so all-invasive that it's impossible to think of much else. I cannot get any sleep no matter how exhausted I am. Once I fall asleep, I wake up minutes later, wanting to scratch myself. My discharge is almost always on the side that itches the worst and it gets heavier as the itching sensation is more powerful. I have small bumps on the outside, like bug bites. They aren't from a rash or anything. They're like mosquito or spider bites. There's usually only one on each side.

This is an embarrassing subject for me and no one I know has ever had a yeast infection. I just want to know if that's really what I have and if there's anything I can do. As I said, the Vagisil didn't make any difference. I just want some relief. I do not have health insurance and cannot afford to see a doctor, let alone a gynecologist. I'd like to exhaust all possible solutions before I have to decide between getting relief from the itching or spending all of my money to see a doctor that may or may not be able to help. For all I know, this could be neurological. I just don't know anymore.

I don't know if it's necessary information but I am not currently sexually active. I had one sexual encounter with a boy but it was about 15 years ago and there was no penetration of any kind.

Please, any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Also, I guess it should be added that I do not use douching products and I never have. The wipes are the only thing other than soap and water that I've used on my vagina. The discharge that I do have is normal, although heavier on whichever side itches the worst. It hasn't been white though it does have an unpleasant smell. But all of my discharges smell the same. I never discharged outside of my period before any of this began but now I have constant discharge, even when I don't have the pain and itching. Otherwise, I am in decent general health.

I get that sort of thing too. I get really itchy to the point where it drives me insane just before my period, during and after it finishes too. I dont quite know what it is and never told anyone in person due to the problem being too embarrassing.
I also notice a burn feeling in my vagina but that also leads to my bladder and burns and is sore when I wee and when I feel the urge to go. I was always wondering yeast infection or maybe some other vaginal infection.
Can you wear tampons? because when I do I get really sore and burny feeling where my tampon was and its painful to the point where I am in discomfort and want to cry. I cant have sex without it hurting so sad but true Ive been avoiding it, this is really embarrassing to talk about and am glad I remain anonymous online lol.

SOrry I cant offer much advice but I do know how you feel and what you are going through. Hope you get it sorted and you feel better soon.

I don't feel it up to my bladder, at least. I, unfortunately, have no idea what you might be going through.

But I cannot wear tampons either. I never could. They hurt me so badly and I can't walk or sit with them in. I've never had that problem with sex though my sex life is thankfully very tame (and nonexistent right now as both my partner and I just haven't felt the need to have sex in about 3 years).

It is embarrassing. If it is a yeast infection, it shouldn't be so embarrassing that people can't even get treatment. But I hope you feel better soon too.

It could be a yeast infection or even a Urinary tract infection or both, or Clamidia.

The thing here is for you Both ( Zemira and Pink ) to go see a DR. There are Free clinic's and Low income Clinic's , I believe Planned Parenthood, will see you for female issues.

You should Never let something like this go on for over a Year ! Or even a month.
Go see a Dr. don't risk having an untreated disease that could end up with a Hysterectomy or making you unable to have children in the future .
