I'm so sorry to hear that everyone has to go through this , its better to know I'm not the only one. I have been getting infections since I was about 15 after ignoring my first one and letting it turn into a major double kidney infection and put me in the hospital for two weeks. I never had them as frequently as I do now, once, twice a month (3 Times in one month in August). iv tried all the "remedies" my doctors, friends and family have offered me. Unfortunately I'm suffering from one at the moment. I ALWAYS carry around my azo uti pain relief pills which work WONDERS. please if your ever in need of quick relief go to the drug store and grab a box. It's gotten to the point where I'm becoming immune to them. Once they'll ware off ill be sitting on the toilet drinking water waiting for that horrible feeling to disappear. I'm sick and tired of just being prescribed the normal antibiotics and being told the same ol thing. Help ?

    Hi laurabelle,

    Welcome to WH.

I see you have had no responses here in the Lounge.
You might ask an Admin to move your post to the General Health Section. I think you will get more advice there than here as more people are looking in Health Sections foe specific Health issues than here in the " Relax and Have Fun " part .

    Good Luck.

I had constant UTI after ever time I had sex. I kept thinking it would go away. Took 8 courses of anti biotics in the space of 2 months. The following has worked for me. If I don't maintain this routine every day, then I get the UTI (but only after I have sex)

4 Cranberry tablets first thing in the morning
D-mannose powder in water, 6 times a day
Marsh allow herb 3 times a day
Nettle tea - basically replaced water
Hi-prex anti bacterial tablets twice a day ( night and morning), especially when I have coffee or alcohol
    Bucchu, ecinahea, everyday
Probiotics double dose but within two hrs of d mannose or hi prex
    Stopped using condoms
Shower and per straight after sex (within 5mins) - very sad for post sex cuddle

Also, cutting out cheese, coffee, alcohol really helps.

If it gets really bad, I take ibuprofen.

And if a full on infection takes hold, then I have no choice but to take anti biotics to clear it up. but I dont' need to take a full course, just one day's worth.

    Hope this helps.

My DH suggested coconut juice, fresh ones though. It worked for me. My UTI is really gone in less than 2 months of drinking it every morning and before bedtime

I kept getting UTI's too and was treated with the antibiotics for it each time. It would go away for 2 weeks and be right back again. My pee smelled horrible and my back was starting to hurt. I decided to try a different doctor and she gave me a pap swab and tested me for a Bacterial Infection, UTI, and a Yeast Infection as well. All tests came back positive. She said due to it being treated incorrectly (I should have been treated for a Bacterial Infection, but was never tested for it before) it made the infection grow and grow and flare up worse each time. So, I ended up taking 3 different antibiotics for a week and ever since then, NO PROBLEMS. It my not be the same case as you, but this was my personal experience and why sometimes it's good to get a second opinion, especially if its an on going thing and your doctor is of little help.
~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
