So I've had a sore throat for 3 days now and a few minutes ago I just noticed white spots had formed on my tonsils. I don't recall this occurring before when I had a sore throat so I've no idea whats going on here. Its kinda spooking me.

Strep throat often produces white spots on the tonsils and throat. I have also had white spots during tonsilities before. Either way, it sounds like you need to see a doctor very soon. You are most likely very contagious and if it's strep you'll need antibiotics.

You will need to get to a clinic asap. The infection itself is just going to hurt your throat you will not die or anything you just need to get to the clinic for the antibiotics so that you do not spread the infection around. Simply coughing around others can give it to them.

One thing to note though when you get the antibiotics FINISH THE PRESCRIPTION AS DIRECTED. You will likely be feeling better after a couple days but it is absolutely imperative that you finish the entire prescription even if it means taking it for the rest of the week. The reason for this is even if you are feeling better in a couple days those bacteria are still on your throat and are still very capable of spreading to another individual. The other reason is that if you do not finish your antibiotics those remaining bacteria will be exposed to only some of the antibiotics and become resistant to them and if they then infect another person they are now going to have an element of resistant to the next round of antibiotics that the new infected person will receive...this cycle happens over and over with different people and soon there are antibiotics that do not work on certain bacterial infections. You MUST MUST MUST finish the prescription.

Boo, and here I was hoping it was just a reaction from the medicine we bought at the store or something. >.<
