it sounds like you have something called racing thoughts. i have had that problem for years. what i have learned to do is shut them off. i do it thru meditation. as soon as they start, i start meditating. this helps keep your brain from going into the racing mode. concentrate on your breath. it does take practice but it works. in any givin night i have to bring my thoughts back to my breathing up to 5 or 6 times before i fall to sleep. you have to learn to shut your mind off and for those of us that have racing thoughts, we know how difficult this can be. good luck.
