That is because headaches are not caused by anything in particular. You can be a top athlete, a perfecting nutritionist, a world class doctor...you can be in tip top physical and mental health and you will still get a headache on random occasions. You cannot completely prevent them, you can reduce the chance but you cannot completely prevent them no matter how hard you try. Something as simple as watching a movie on your laptop can cause a headache, having a bad day at work, stepping outside into the bright sun...all of that can cause a headache. They are stupid and annoying lol but it is one of those things we just have to live with unfortunately. One also cannot simply 'will' a headache away. Headaches are largely due to increased blood flow to the brain, you cannot control that.I've never known the main cause of my headaches, and when I've gone to doctors or such, they never found anything wrong either.
Lexapro is an SSRI antidepressent. SSRI stands for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Serotonin is a chemical in the body that is partially responsible for depression, and in depression less serotonin is available between neurons (neurons are the message senders of the brain)...you want serotonin between those neurons to keep things running smoothly. In depression there is reduced amounts of serotonin between neurons, an SSRI allows for more serotonin between the neurons...hence why SSRIs can help in treating depression, there is more serotonin available. With headaches one of the theories is that there is a deficiency in serotonin, so adding an SSRI such as Lexapro can increase the serotonin levels and thereby reduce the chance of having a headache.I was asking(in my main message/post up there) why Lexapro would make my headaches completely disappear. Do you know why or how they could do that(the Lexapro minusing out my headaches completely)?
