Default Hysterectomy: what should I do?

i have recently been been informed that i have fibroid tummor on my uterous. I have begun to have extremely painful periods, they have always been bad, but not like this. i have 4 beautiful children, and do not want anymore, so more children isn't an issue. I have a couple of options, i could have my uterous taken out, or have the tummor removed. I would really like to have some advise, i am looking or pros and cons girls, please HELP!!!!!

I had my uterus and ovaries out at 47. Really never looked back and in time found all my sexual self again.....If you just have the fibroids out you will still have your period and can have more children.... If you have the whole uterus out you will not have a period, can have sex all the time and no more PMS BUT the uterus surgery is much more complicated and I believe a longer recovery time.....Either way, I am sure you will make the right choice....Much luck....Take care, Caroline

I was very surprised when I went back to the GYN for my 6 week check up after the surgery. He asked me how sex had been. I said really great as it was. He then told me that my uterus was tilted so badly that it was amazing that I was not in pain all the time during penetration. I was aware that my husband was hitting the top of me all the time and only after surgery did I realize how awesome sex really was. So for me the vaginal surgery was great but for the next person I don't know.

He did a wonderful job stitching me up and believe me we have no complaints....
