I used to walk in my sleep and was always really restless. I had a real hard time getting to sleep. I still do some times. I found that there are some things that help though. Try to avoid caffiene and sugar several hours before you go to bed. Those two things will have you wired and your brain going a million miles an hour! I actually cut caffiene completely out of my diet. Also, it can help to have a light snack before bed. Some times being on the verge of hunger can make you restless and having a full tummy is known to relax you and make you feel sleepy. I also have a bad habit of working right up until I go to bed. You should try to stop working or doing anything that takes a lot of concentration and thought at least an hour before bed. Try to do something relaxing like watch tv, read a book, meditate, or something to that effect. That will help calm your mind and prepare you for sleep. Your brain will slow down and naturally tell your body it's time for sleep. The important thing is to stop thinking about things you need to do or things that you are stressed about. I know it also helps some people to have some sort of noise or air flow in their rooms. I personally don't do that, but my mom can't sleep without it.

It may also help you to exercize or go for a long walk a few hours before going to bed. Don't do it too soon before bedtime though because it can some times take a little while for your adrenaline to drop back down. But after a while the exercize will leave you calm and relaxed.
