Thread: Hip Pain from Cam Boot

Has anyone ever had to wear one of those boots due to a foot fracture or foot problem? I had a stress fracture to the right foot and wore the boot for 4-5 weeks, resulting in pain to the left hip from my gait being off kilter.

The foot healed a couple of months ago but this left hip has hurt since I had to wear that boot. My GP thought it was bursitis and gave me a steriod shot, no help. Ortho surgeon stated that my hip x-rays show no arthritis and the joint and tendons, etc. are in good shape, probably not bursitis. Now I go to acupuncture next week.

Pain in hip moves around to the lower back quite often on left side but constant pain. Physical therapy didn't help.

Anyone ever wear one of these boots and have any problems like mine? Some investigation on the web shows studies that these boots can cause the leg length to change. Geez. Too much pain and my life has totally changed. I can't exercise, walk much. I've lost 25 lbs to help lighten the load, with about 30 more to go. Eating better than I ever have, juicing, veggies, balanced diet. Even working with a holistic nutritionist. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
