CHANDLERS WISH is on a distinguished road
Default Typical Caged Animals -

PF posted about a variety of animals she had in her life on another thread, birds, rabbits, fish, cats, dogs, etc..

I also grew up with a hoard, including, turtles, gineau pigs, even a blue tongue lizard and the above.

Animals, animals animals.... Maybe that's why i love the word!!! lol.

Interestingly how ever, i am aware and have had, birds that i let the door open and they sit on my shoulder, speak etc.

However, i had this rabbit, Gemma. At the same time i had a cat and i had moved house, so i had a kitty litter in the laundry for her for a while.

So, i bought this rabbit home, complete with cage etc, but as a free spirit myself, i don't believe in locking animals up in cages if i can avoid it, so i bought the rabbit inside.

Worried of course about all the rabbit droppings, but it was only for a short time right? Sit by the TV, on my lap type of thing, let it free...

But low and beyold, this little girl went into the kitty litter tray, smelt it and did her droppings... WT?

From that day onwards, i watched her do it over and over, lol, and on occasions, in the kitchen and i'd pick her up and put her in the tray, did she think she was the cat's sister? Who knows...

So, this little bunny was toilet trained within a week. Lived in the house after that, slept on my bed. In fact, funny one day my girlfriend and i slept in the same bed, ( no funny ideas) not telling, but anyway, i was going away and she stayed over, well little Gemma grunted all the way across her body all night until i settled her and we laughed and laughed watching this thing hop over her over and over grunting.

Gemma used to "hop" up onto the lounge and nuzzle in. The cat just lived with it.

When i moved, i had to teach her not to dig holes as well, as i was renting back then and she didn't after a short time.

But funny, i had to build a fence because the neighbours would knock on my door and say um, your rabbit is sitting out the front of our house with around 4 cats, or she's in our back yard eating our lettuce... It was one of the two.

Everyone knew the little bugger. And i kept building those bricks...lol.

I will never forget that little creature as she proved that even a rabbit can be house trained.

Amazing really...

Thought i would share that, it would be interesting if anyone else has ever experienced anything like that, i never got over this personality thing of a rabbit thinks it's a cat, but still acts like a rabbit...
