Oh yeah Chandler, good point about the whole 'running away/being chased' perspective. Probably has to do with trying to escape or avoid life's pressures and stress. Verrryy interesting!!

I have fought it and been successful a few times in waking myself up, not waking up because of it, or in the morning. Not always.

The easiest one i think, (one would hope) otherwise they're in trouble, is dreaming that you are going to the loo but it doesn't stop and i wake myself up soon enough as subconciously i end up realising that i can't stop because i want to go in reality... It just seems to hit that subconcious note....

    This thread could be interesting
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!

Dreams have always fascinated me. Reading through this thread I have noticed that we tend to remember the negative dreams and not the positive ones - isnt this because we will wake up soon after or during a nightmare, whereas we just sleep through the peaceful ones

Im curious too - I can do this everytime i have a nightmare, i find myself becoming gradually aware that 'this' is a bad dream, i even say to myself repeatedly 'this is a nightmare, you need to wake up now'

On the random occassion I even remember being the 'third person' -watching me telling myself to wake up - that is spooky. I also have been aware that i have woken myself up, i am out of the nightmare and reassuring myself that everything is okay - yet i am still dreaming. Then, its a case of having to pinch myself or touch my eyes to work out whether i am awake or not, it sounds terrifying, but i am always relaxed about it.
