I've experienced this before, it's not nice. My friends have also felt it, and call it "iron lung", god knows what it actually is though. If you're a smoker, smoke less or quit, anyway, if it's a frequent problem I'd hope that you'd trust a doctor more than a bunch of wannabe knowitalls on the internet.

I don't really think it's smoking related, but just checking. I think it just happens... I'm tempted to think it's normal to a degree, but if it's frequent and it persists, definately see a doctor, there's no harm in being careful

It happens. I've got no more an idea than anyone else what it is, but it does happen to everyone. I don't think I've had it happen for a few days in a row, that's weird...I get it occasionally for about 4 or 5 breaths in a row.

well it won't help to tell you this - that I've had that in the past. and it just goes away. Not to say you shouldn't get it looked into. The doctor can push on that part, and see if you have any enlarged organs or such. I did that, and came out clean. But still had those pains you speak of from time to time....
Good Luck...but best not dwell,,and see a doctor. It's probably nothing, and will pass.
