Unhappy Third day of

This is my third day with tonsillitis and let me tell you...I had it about 3 1/2 years ago and it was bad, but I forgot about it. Now I have it again and it has got to be the worst feeling in the world. The pain is so intense, and the swelling, oh god the swelling is the most uncomfortable feeling i think I have felt in a long time. I feel like someone is literally choking me . I went to the doc and he said that I would feel better with 24 - 48 hours, but I don't. It's memorial day weekend in New England, and the weather is beautiful. I just want to enjoy it with my husband and two little girls . Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, when can I expect to feel well enough for the Advil to actually relieve some of the pain and swelling? I'm sorry if I sound like a baby, I just have to vent, no one understands how bad I feel. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. ~ Camille

so I am still not better yet, basically i am just using this to vent, but I would love some advice if anybody knows of any. I am starting to feel a little soft hearted, I am crying so easily over everything. I think I am just drained, I haven't been this sick in years. Wah wah wah, sorry I am being a baby again, lol.

I had tonsillitis with strep and a double ear infection last summer. Did the doctor do a culture on your throat cells? Did he give you any kind of antibiotic?
I got a "Z-pack," and that knocked it out really quickly. Hope you feel better soon

My strep test was neg. I am on an Antibiotic, but I am thinking that what I have is viral, it just has to run it's course. This is day 5 now. The swelling is a little better, but the pain is still intense. Ugggh. Now my 4 year old woke up with it .

Try Chloraseptic. It tastes like ****, but numbs your throat. They have other sprays like it, too.

Isn't the worst? It's like you never realize how much you swallow until you feel like razors are in your throat.

Feel better.

Thanx, I will try it... and yes it is the worse. They are so swollen. Can your throat actually close completely from tonsillitis?? Seriously, there is like a tiny opening in my throat right now, i don't know how I am breathing.
