    Default Hormonal imbalance question?

    I have done some recent research after still not feeling like myself at all *feeling like a completely different person than i was prior to pregnancy* and i have a ton of symptoms of having some type of hormonal imbalance.
    Since i had my son 15 months ago these are some of my symptoms
    * I lose tons of hair daily
    * Moody
    * Irritable
    * My insulin levels were up recently in a blood test i had done
    * I sweat like crazy- something i never ever did
    * I get extremely hot even when it is like 80 degrees outside
    * I get severe headaches 2 weeks before my menstrual cycle and seem to have a headache more than not
    * Get severe menstrual cramps
    * Feeling down in the dumps for no reason at all
    * Fuzzy cloudy brain
    * Acne
    * Irregular periods
    * Very difficult time losing weight
    * and i over feel like i aged tremendously- my body aches randomly

    A little background on me not sure whether it is useful.... I got pregnant in Jan. 06 miscarried in March 06 got pregnant in June 06 had my son in March 07, had an IUD put in 6 weeks later and got it out this Jan 08 since i thought that it was the cause of the way i was feeling. Waited and waited thinking that i would return to feeling myself but to no avail.So i have made an appt with my OB after being fed up with myself.
    Has anyone ever had any experience with this or know anything about this and should i request any specials labs from my doc?

    First off.....CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY!! Second.....(((HUGE HUGS)))

    I experienced many of those symptoms after I had my children. Your body has to adjust back to normal levels of everything. That being said, have you had your thyroid checked? MANY of the symptoms you describe can be tracked back to a whacked out thyroid.

    When we were trying to conceive our last baby, we tried for 2 years with a m/c in there. I went to the dr. and he wanted to check my thyroid (which is a bloodtest). Sure enough, hypothyroid (underactive thyroid). Started on meds and 2 weeks later, baby was conceived! She is now 18mo.

    Anyways, if you research thyroid, you will find that a wacked out thyroid effects pretty much your entire body--mind and physical self. It definitely made a difference for me.

    Hope you get an answer really quick, I know its no fun feeling like that.

    HUGS!!

    Hi jbenev5338. Congratulations on your baby. I'm new here but thought I'd post since I have been having some of the same symptoms. I had a baby 8 months ago but am experiencing some of what you have been as well. It definitely sounds like hormonal imbalance to me. My thyroid was tested but was found to be normal. I haven't yet had hormones tested but plan to do that next. My GP hasn't suggested it, much to my amazement and frustration. Losing hair, heat sensitivity, headaches, body aches, etc I can relate to and sound like hormone imbalance. Have you had those tested yet? I would be very interested to learn of your outcome. Maybe you should try a naturopath as well? I'm off to see one of those in a few days time. Good luck anyway and let us know how you get on and if your doc finds anything.
