I'm assuming you've been to a few dentists?

There are some tooth infections etc. that you can get, which cause persistant bad breath, my mother had bad breath for years and years until she changed dentists and the other one realised that one of her teeth was the problem. They pulled it out, and the smell is gone...

    Default Improving your bad breath

Bad breath has many different causes some of which are serious and others that are simply due to poor hygiene and diet. There are certain underlying medical conditions that can cause bad breath, for example, peptic ulcers, diabetes, liver or kidney conditions, etc. Other reasons can be due to mucous in the mouth (sinus drainage), accumulation of food in back pockets of mouth or in between teeth, or inflammation of the gums.

Treatments for bad breath vary depending on what the cause is, however, I hope the following tips can help improve your situation.

    1. Brushing, Flossing, Mouthwash, Tongue/Cheek Scraper
I know those sound simple but often times we forget to use those to
our advantage. Especially the tongue and cheek scraper.
    2. Increased saliva production will also help decrease the bad breath.
For example chew sugarless gum and also increase your water intake.
    3. There are also nutritional supplements that you may also try such as
zinc, vitamins C and E, and selenium.

Lastly finding a dentist and a physician that will help guide you through this is essential. By no means am I either of those. These are just simple tips that I have learned to use to combat bad breath.

Does your diet have a large amount of protein in it?

People on atkins diet are renowned for having bad breath, as in a response to not eating carbs, then engulf in proteins....same with dogs (not sure why i mentioned that)

    Good luck.

I have finally gotten off my butt to answer this question...The reason being I had to walk all the way to the other end of the house to the master bathroom...

My husband had this problem years ago...I would say it was about 10 to 15 years ago...In desperation, he too, went to the dentist with it...I believe it is a bacteria in your gums..He is down in the lower level on his computer and I am just guessing..But I think I am right. The Periodontist gave him this prescription...You use it twice a day...Morning and evening...It is Chlorhexidine Oral Rinse 473 ML. One of the best secrets there is for beating bad breath...

I have told about ten people about this...They swear by it...Even wanted to build a statue to me in honor of this wonderful problem being solved......So I let them.....

    Take care, Caroline
