Hi! I'm new here, but just wanted to put in a message to say I am experiencing the exact same things. Low sex drive and chronic fatigue (feel like I could sleep all day) for the past 5 years maybe. Interestingly enough, 3 years ago I had the reactive EBV (kissing disease/form of glandular fever that can be recurring) in my blood and that can cause chronic fatigue syndrome. Maybe you (altenese2000 and Clara1983) should get your GP to do a blood test and determine if you have ever had EBV, as it shows up in a blood test as to whether or not you currently have it or have had it in the past. You may find you have both been exposed to this or another virus. I have also had recurrent and frequent episodes of sore throats and herpes since having EBV 3-4 years ago. Otherwise, it could be hormone-related. Why is it that GPs NEVER seem to test us women on our hormones? Unless we request it ourselves. It's ridiculous. Anyway, I commend you ladies for admitting and seeking out help for feeling chronically fatigued - why should we just have to put up with feeling less than we should? Sometimes it's very hard to admit because you feel like people are labelling you as lazy or hypochondriacs. That's what I often feel anyway. I am seeing a naturopath on Monday to see what he thinks and to try that. I told my husband I am going to try everything I can to get back to the normal energetic person I used to be, including some diet alterations. Anyway, good luck guys and let us know how you get on.
Just another thing - do any of you suffer from heat sensitivity as well? I often get uncomfortably hot, even when the room temp is not that hot. It's quite arre. Haven't always been like that. No it's not early menopause as I only just had a baby 8months ago. Maybe it's hormonal imbalance we are all suffering from. Do you guys ever get the feeling that when you go to your GP you have to literally PUSH to get the testing done that you feel you need to have done? I find that quite frustrating.
