kidney function
I am a diabetic and I control my glucose levels with diet alone and keep the A1C in the 5-6 range. A concern that I have is my last blood test of my kidney function which the GFR reading was 68.8. Is that a bad reading????....I am 59 years old and my doctor says everything is ok with the blood test for my kidneys. I see that number as not real great according to some research I have done. Does any one know what that number means and if it is a normal reading for someone at my age. I am concerned and am not sure if I should watch how much protein I should be eating. I know protein is hard on the kidneys.
Anyone know what the numbers mean? I don't want my kidneys on overdrive...
