Hi, i have a question about urine strangly i know, ive noticed when i goto the toilet to pee, its either a yellow colour or its clear, and was curious to know why is our urine a different colour !, is it due to not drinking enough fluids or another reason.

    Hi Carl..

Generally, if you don't drink enough water and / or drink too much alcohol then it will be yellow.

If you drink enough water daily at least 1 litre it should be clear.

Usually, that's the reason of the difference in colour.

    Hope that helps you.

considering I only left school last year I should most definitely know if the answer I'm going to give is right...but I'm not sure!
Most certainly it depends on what you drink. If you drink alcohol it raises the ammonia levels in your body which can cause the pH in cells to rise to toxic levels. Urea is used to almost neutralize the ammonia in our urine making it a yellow color, therefore the more alcohol or acidic things you drink the more Urea is used and the darker your Urine will be

I failed science so theres a chance absolutely none of that is accurate...but it sounds right in my head

I always heard the general rule for urine was that it should be "clear and copious". So if you're drinking enough fluids it should nearly clear and you should be peeing fairly often. If it's yellow and you're only peeing a couple times a day, you're probably not hydrated enough.
Well some people say that you shouldn't tempt fate, and for them I can not disagree. But I never learned nothing from playing it safe; I say fate should not tempt me. I take my chances.
