I saw Dear John last Thursday and was completely disappointed. It was NOTHING like The Notebook so they never should have compared the two. I was hoping for a tear jerker but didn't get one. It was a waste of money to be honest.
hey everyone i was wondering if anyone saw Dear John,Starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. it came out this friday. Did anyone like it? What did everyone/anyone think of it? How is it different? or the same as the book? Why or why not? Very interested to hear everyone responds. I read the book and saw the movie. I loved both but must say i loved the book more.![]()

"All the beats and melodies keep realities at bay but what happens when the records done and starts to fade away? Alone within myself again, I try to veil away my pain. The dirty grey surrounding me 'round..... And now I hear no sound."
Honestly I have mixed emotions on seeing it. My husband is in the military and about to get deployed so not sure if I can see it. It's hard enough to go through it. But at the same time, I wonder if it could help me.
That's a tough call Paw. Honestly, I wouldn't watch it if I were you. I don't see anything in that movie that could be helpful to you. That's just my humble opinion though. Tell your husband thank you for me. I appreciate the men and women who protect and fight for us so much. I'd be proud as well.

Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words and I will be sure to tell my husband you said thank you! It means a lot to me when someone says that. He says, "I'm just doing my job." I think it would be tough to see. Thank you so much for your advice!
I just finished re-reading the book last night, and only hope the movie is half as good.
I am gonna go see the movie thursday after I finish work. I am hoping its a good movie. not just cause Channing Tatum is in it. Just cause I never get out and am making the effort to this time.
The book is much better. The Notebook is really the only movie I've seen that is as good as the book. This one is close but they changed the ending and that ticked me off.
