Youngest Birth Mothers
Yesterday I was looking up random things (as usual) and one of my friends tweeted "21 with an 11 year old". Of course I decided to google the world's youngest mother and found an entire list of these young girls that had been raped and impregnated.
The youngest one on the list was 5 years old!!! They also had a list of youngest grandmother's and it was one of the mother's listed. She gave birth at the age of 8, her daughter gave birth at the age of 9, making her a grandmother at 17.
One of the girls listed developed breasts within weeks of being born and started her menstrual cycle at 12 months. She gave birth at 10 years old. It's an insanely long list for mothers that young! Most were raped but some were also consensual. Crazy, crazy world.

That is so sad... babies having babies. I can't begin to imagine the mental anguish it would put on a young girl to be raped at such a young age and then to go through all the changes emotionally and physically throughout a pregnancy. I was 24 when I got pregnant and you go through a lot of changes. I hope child protective services got involved in these cases and serious actions were taken in addition to providing these young girls with extensive counseling. It's appalling that abuse of children exists in the world we live in. It breaks my heart to hear of children being abused, they are so innocent and abuse destroys that innocence.
It seems as though half the cases they had no idea who had raped the children. Some of them were almost a century ago and some more recently. The ones where they had an idea who had done, had been locked away. It is truly awful...it reminds me of this book called "One Child". I just don't understand how you can be so sexually deprived to steal a child's innocence like that! Truly a tragedy...
