I didn't start paying attention to politics until Bush's second term, so obviously I have only been paying attention to two very contrasting presidents. I feel like each of them have had unique issues that they confronted in effective ways. I think the position of president is more likely to get scapegoated than make much impact on the country, and it's very important to me that the president be treated with respect, regardless of whether we necessarily agree with their policies. I get really angry and kinda sick when people go around joking about killing the president (which, living in a very conservative area, I hear oftener than I'd like.)
Of course, not all WHers are from the US, and I know virtually nothing about politicians outside the US, UK, and Mexico. It would be cool to hear about their politicians and leaders too.
And as a reminder, of course, everyone needs to be respectful in this thread. There are a lot of posters who have differing and even opposing political views, or who support opposing politicians, and no one should be made to feel less for it. Any post that resorts to baseless name-calling will be deleted and the poster punished. So if you think a politician is stupid or terribawful, figure out what he or she did to make you think that way and call those actions stupid or terribawful instead
