I am 29 and still a virgin. I was wondering if it possible for a virgin to get uterine prolapse. The reason that I am asking is that when I was in the bath tub the other day. I spread my legs and bent over to have a look. I did not see any opening but i guess where the opening would be I saw a small bulge. I feel stupid because it has been so long since I looked i don't know if it was there last time and I just don't remember. It isn't hanging out or anything but it is just there so I see no opening. I don't know if it might be my hymen or not. I have never been to the gynecologist. I have an appointment in 2 months but this is really getting to me. i did a search and found uterine prolapse and have been stressing out. I am not looking for a diagnosis. I just wanted to know if it sounds like something or nothing. I should mention that I have no pain, no itching, and my periods are regular. If and whn I have cramping, it is very mild. I am embarassed to ask any of my friends about this. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

The vaginal opening is not really an open whole you can look into. The tissue inside comes together to sort of close the opening up until something like a penis is inserted. Really, the only time you can look down into an open vagina is right after it has been penetrated or if you use a speculum (tool which doctors use to open it up). So even if you were to look at it with a mirror, you still couldn't see inside it. You would only see the tissue resting near the opening. Also, the older we get, the more gravity pulls that tissue down closer to the opening. Women who have children are more likely to have the tissue closer to the opening as well. Get your check up to be sure, but don't stress yourself out about it.
