Unhappy Bleeding after sex - very worried

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone could offer any advice, or if anyone else has had the same thing.

I've recently started in a new relationship and a couple of days ago we slept together for the first time. It was the first time I'd had sex in 2 years, and although it was a great experience, it was rather rough. Afterwards I was absolutely mortified to discover there was blood all over the sheets, and it'd come from me.

I'm currently taking the contraceptive pill and am due for my next period in a few days, but this didn't seem like what that was as it stopped pretty soon afterwards. I had a smear a few months ago which came back normal, and an ultrasound which revealed I had a small but benign ovarian cyst.

I have a doctors appointment in a couple of days time, for something else, but I'm going to talk to them about it then too. But in the meantime, just to settle my worries, has anyone been through the same thing? Is it possible that that sort of thing could simply be caused by 'over-enthusiastic' sex? I have previously been treated for chlamydia, but everything is clear now.

Any help, advice or suggestions would be most welcome before I convince myself that I'm a freak or that I'm going to die.

    Thank you x

    Hey there!

Misery loves company I guess because I was actually relieved to see that this had happened to someone else and I was not alone! A few months ago I had sex with guy and the same thing happened to me, it was quite humiliating, but at least we found humor in it wherever we could.

I am pretty intense about keeping up on my girly appointments and so I know I was healthy and clean. To be honest I have never had a urinary tract infection, a yeast infection, or any STD's to this day THANK GOODNESS, but I was still a little confused. My period was over at least a week or two prior to the night of fun, so I knew it wasn't that. The guy I was with was actually quite large so we just assumed that was the reason it happened. I can't say that I felt any pain or anything to indicate that something was damaged, haha, but I am quite sure that my body was not suspecting such an eventful night if ya know what I mean.

Poor guy! He noticed first when he took off the condom that there was blood and he kinda freaked out because he was worried he had injured me, haha. I got up and looked at the sheets and they were ruined! Once I assured him that I was ok and didn't need to be rushed to the hospital (totally in jest of course!) I could just feel his ego grow! Suddenly he became the man who was "so big" that he "traveled where no man had eve gone before" and all that silly kind of joking around.

SO, personally I was not that worried about it but by all means if someone knows something I don't please share! I'm betting that between my big boy and your 2 year lapse it was just our bodies way of being jolted back into the game
