Question repeated yeast infections & irregular periods??

This is kind of a long question, but I don't want to leave any info out, so bear with me.

My boyfriend currently lives in a different state. I went to visit him in early October, and we had unprotected sex (this was the first time unprotected & I am on the pill). About a week later I got a yeast infection, but I didn't think much of it (I have had maybe 2 total in my entire life up until this point, so I don't get them too often). I used an over the counter treatment and it seemed to go away just fine.

Then I go to visit him again in November, and about a week later, same thing - another yeast infection. At this point I asked him if he had any symptoms, thinking maybe we were passing it back and forth. He said no, everything is normal for him. I use another OTC treatment, it goes away again.

I don't think I had one anytime in December, but then in early January, right before he came to visit me, I got another one. I used another OTC treatment, and it went away. I didn't get one after his visit here, so I thought maybe it was finally taken care of.

A couple of weeks go by, and in mid-February I have to go for my yearly pap/gyno exam. They call me a few days later and tell me that I had yeast in my test results, and they called me in a prescription. Same thing again.

Now it's March, I haven't seen my boyfriend since January (probably for the best at this point!) and I went to the gyno last week because I had ANOTHER yeast infection. He didn't seem that concerned - gave me a prescription for 2 diflucan pills - told me to take one that day and take another in a few days. I took the pill on Monday and my symptoms went away, but then I noticed the discharge was back when I took the second pill on Thursday (2 days ago), but there wasn't any itching/burning/anything else. As of today, I still have a white discharge but no other symptoms.

Also, the whole time this has been happening, I have been having irregular periods. I have been on the same pill (ortho novum) for years now. The past few months I have been getting a period during the second weeks of pills, and then a very light period on the fourth week, when I am supposed to get one. It seems like the yeast infections often coincide with the early periods.

If anyone could give me any help, I would really appreciate it! I am at a loss! I keep thinking it has something to do with the unprotected sex, but my bf swears he is fine (I know he is cheating, honestly). Could it be an STD or some kind of weird miscarriage/infection? That would clear itself up though, right?
