I am 37 and a mother of two kids. I am healthy and only have one parter who is my husband. I hadn't had any infection in the past 10 years. Then I had one incidence last Oct. I remember one day I felt burning and a little bit itching. The doctor saw clue cell under microscope but no yeast from the culture. So he said I had BV (though I didn't have odor problem at all) and gave me boric acid capisule (named Yeast Arrest)to insert to vagina for 7 days followed by candaclear for 6 days. My symptom was relieved 3 days with the boric acid.

Then I had second incidence this Feb, which gave me really hard time and my symptom never went away since then and that's why I am here for help or advice.

My symptom was vaginal burning and soreness suddenly happened on one Sunday afternoon. I didn't have fishy odor at all. I went to the same doctor office two days later. He told me he saw clue cells under his microscope again, so it's still BV and he prescribed me metrogel for 5 days followed by candaclear. My symptom went away the 3rd day with metrogel, but came back right away the day I stoped metrogel and started candaclear. Same symptom but with more pain. That's where my suffer started. I waited till my period finished and went back to the office again. Then he saw clue cell again. Then he gave me boric acid and candaclear again. Unlike first incidence, this time my symptom never completely went away. I went to the second doctor who was my ob and assitant professor at Cornell medical school. She only detected my PH is abnormal, but 2 clue cells among more than 100 cells. My pap smear and culture are normal. So she didn't think I am infected. Unfortunately I suffered so much. My vagina area is extremely painful after each exam ( which never happened to me before when I went to obgyn office). Since my vagina pain didn't go away, I started treat myself with another round of boric acid, then hydrogen peroxide douche by reading internet.

Now I am left with some vagina discomfort, not burning, but stinging. I can't wear any fit pants but something very loose. I am crazy on this discomfort. I don't know what is my problem now. I am in doubt if at the begining I did have BV or something else not detected.

Can anyone give me any advice? Do you know any good gyn treating this kind of infection problem better in NYC area? Thank you.
