Hi im 19 years old and for the last 6months ive been admitting myself to hospital with pains on my right side they say they think it might be cysts but as it is not life-threatening they will not see me! its really bad and sometime i cannot even get out of bed, my periods are very irregular and atm i havnt had a period for nearly 8weeks. i have asked to be referred to a Gynecologist but my doctor keeps telling me he doesnt even think its a cyst! my mother two aunties have polycystic ovaries and my oldest sister had ovaries but had them removed as at the time they thought she was having an eptopic pregnancy, otherwise apprently there is a waiting list...ive had alot of weight gain, and this is making me very depressed atm, im in a lot of pain and no body is listening to me and because its not life threating they wont do anything about this... can somebody please help me in any way possible. Thanks for ready xx
Hi Katie,
Tell us, did they give you an Ulta Sound at the Hospital?
Any medication?
With the Doctor's remarks of what he/she doesn't think that it is has he/she stated what he/she thinks it might be?
It seems to me that the main reason why we get so worked up is because things aren't explained to us properly to set our minds at ease.
I appreciate that your main fear stems from what has happened to your Mother/Aunty/Sister, and so you see the word "hereditory".
Have you also discussed this with the Doctors?
