    Unhappy Discharge

Hi... i'm 20 and i'm going to my first gyno appointment in about a week and i'm pretty much terrified for one. but i'm also very concerned because i have a lot of discharge and it's a little thicker but i have no itching or burning or anything like that and i am not sexual active and am still a virgin. What could be causing this and what is it? is there a way to get rid of it? i'm just incredibly worried about it. Please reply if you can help it would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you so much,

    -letitbe04

I'm 17, and I just recently went to the gyno and had my first visit...it really isn't all that bad, you'll be fine. But I've had sex, unlike you, and honestly, it really doesn't hurt! You'll b ok! But I have the same discharge, a thick white discharge...and it's constantly there everytime I go to the rest room, I have to whipe like 3X to get it dry... I don't know what's going on....but My gynocologist didn't say anything abnormally going on...However, I didn't bring up that I've had sex to him, or that I have discharge because my Mom was in the room. I am on the pill for menstural reasons to my mom, because she doesn't know that I have sex, but anyways...you should bring it up to your gyno...like I should of have...now I'm stuck with no answers.

    Letitbe04,

The discharge is probably just the normal discharge all women have from time to time, but your Dr has probably done a pap smear to see if things are ok. Everyone is different, so we all have different amounts of discharge at different times during our menstrual cycles, as well as at different times of our lives. I hope everything went ok with the GYN.

I to have discharge thats extremely bothersome. I saw my gyn about a year ago and, like one of you, didnt say anything about it, my boyfriend was there, which isn't a good idea no matter how long you've been together! I figured if it was a problem they would find it in the pap smear but they found nothing. Its been the same as long as I could remember.. No one ever says what kind of discharge is normal and Im embarresed to ask even my mother about it. So what is normal? Yes, I know we are not all alike, but it'd help to know whats normal for all of you.

Good luck on your oppointment day! It really isn't bad, it helps A LOT to be relaxed.
