Default Loestrin 24 FE and Alfalfa

In my twenties, I tried birth control, but discontinued when my blood pressure, usually 110/70, jumped to 130/90. Now, to control heavy menstrual flow, my doctor suggested Loestrin 24 FE, not as birth control, and I'm 43.

Within a few hours of taking the Loestrin, my heart begins beating rapidly and irregularly. Also, I have noticed some back pain. For these reasons, I'm discontinuing use of Loestrin 24.

I have no symptoms of actual menopause, and my period is regular, but heavy.

I enjoy the peaceful feeling associated with the estrogen, despite the weird, potentially dangerous side effects experienced this week (had one of my ovaries removed due to a non-malignant tumor, so my estrogen't s a bit low). I was wondering how effective are Alfalfa tablets/liquid supplements to increase estrogen safely?
