Hi, I am 48 years old and I have a total hysterectomy almost 8 months ago! I am still not back to myself and feel I am getting worse! About 2 1/2 months a co-worker tried to squeeze past me and a shelf; she ended up pushing me into the shelf which was tummy height and I felt 2 pops and lots of pain! In those two spots I still have a lot of pain and discomfort. Another problem I have had since the hysterectomy is my hands ( very badly), feet and lower back are very sore. I have a hard time opening jars now, working in the flower beds, mowing grass, walking etc. Last concern; when my husband and I try to have intercourse its very painful! Especially the cervix; its hurts so much and feels very raw! If anyone could give me some advise It will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Hi momminpain, I'm so sorry you're still not feeling well since your hysterectomy. But I've read on some websites and many blogs that lots of women have problems like what you're describing after hysterectomy. There's a helpful website that lists what women commonly experience after hysterectomy, it's the HERS Foundation, I think that will be very helpful to you to see what other women experience. There's a blog that you can click on too. A ton of women write about what they've done to help cope with these problems. I hope you feel better!
