Hello everyone. This is all new to me and I'd like some help. I went to see my gyno with multiple c/o redness/raw feeling, swelling, and itchiness. MD stated it was a yeast infection (my 1st ever) and made me take a 3 day intravaginal terconazole cream. She also took cultures and told me to call 4 days later. I finished the yeast infection cream (all above-mentioned sxs resolved!), but then the MD showed lab results stating I had gardnerella/bacterial vaginosis. Even though I had no more sxs, I began using the intravaginal metronidazole gel x 5 days. It's been 2 days after I completed the gel and now i'm noticing alot of white, clumpy discharge. There's no itchiness or irritation so I don't think it's a yeast infection (as I know these are common after using metrogel). So here are my queries: Was it possible to have a mixed infection of yeast and BV? Is this discharge just my body "getting rid of bacteria"/self-adjusting to not being on the gel OR excess gel seeping out? Also, how soon can I have sex again without a risk of causing a reoccurence of yeast or BV? I'm worried this will become chronic! Thank you for ANY help.
