I just recently got over a yeast infection. It started out as a typical yeast infection- discharge, discomfort, itching, etc. Sometimes I get them before or after my period, which IS coming up, so I just let them run their course without the creams. Usually I'm really good at resisting to scratch, but this time I slipped >< Couldn't help it due to the concetrated amount of discomfort. For me, if I dare scratch, I pay for it. The discomfort and itching hits me 10 times harder. This time it was too much for me to bare- could hardly walk without wanting to rip my girl parts off =( so I went out for treatment. I got just a regular 1 day cream, the one I usually get, treated and went on with my day.

That was yesterday. No more discomfort, itching, burning, discharge, BUT now I'm noticing a fishy odor. Not only the odor, but the discharge is completely clear and my regular discharge is white and odorless. I've also notice whitish skin around the opening of my uretha and in one specific spot, painful if touched. The pain went away during sexual activity, but returns after all the fun is over.

The last yeast infection I had was a while ago and I don't recall this fishy odor or discolored skin, but I'm wondering if it's common to have a little bit of odor while my body flushes out the yeast treatment and if the white skin (much like when you sit in water too long) is something to worry about.

Sounds like BV...you need to go to your Dr or Gyno and have them test you.

everytime i've gotten BV i 1st think its Yeast because of the discharge and itching, then later comes the odor.
