    Question PCOS and Adenomyosis

I went to an OB-GYNE for the first time and I related to her that I have an irrgular menstruation. She initially diagnosed me with PCOS. It was later confirmed through a transrectal ultra-sound that I do have bilateral Polycystic Ovaries. PCOS is said to be the most common cause of irregular menstraution. It can be treated using pills.

More than that, the ultrasound results said that I have "normal anteverted uterus, with heterogeneoys myometrial echotexture, suggestive of Adenomyosis." The OB-Gyne told me that she can't do anything about the Adenomyosis since the only treatment is removal of the uterus.

I am only 22 years old and I haven't had sex even with my boyfriend. I searched the net about Adenomyosis and its clinical features said that it is common to women ages 35 and above, who had children already and/or on the menopausal stage.

Should I get a second opinion about the Adenomyosis? I hope you can help me. Thanks!

I think that if we are not sure about anything that we always get a second opinion....

Sometimes things can for sure be incorrect.

    Good luck.
