Default Chlamydia and Gonnorhea - wife diagnosed today

My Wife was diagnosed with G and C today by her new OB GYN.
We have been together for 10 years, since high school, and to my knowledge, I have been her only sexual partner.

I was sexually active with another woman before we started dating, and, to my knowledge, I was her only sexual partner (ever). This other woman was my girlfriend from High School, but she had been away at college for a semester. The last time we had sex was December 1999, 3 months before my wife and I started dating.

I believe my wife when she tells me she has had no other partners, and I hope she believes me too. I am very concerned that we could have had this disease for 10 years. She says she has never been tested because we were monogomous.

I am very worried that we may not be able to have children because of damage to her filopian tubes as a result of PID. Although she has had NO symptoms of the disease, I am very concerned it could have been "silent PID".
I have already fought and overcome Testicular Cancer, and was thrilled when my sperm count came back after chemo. If my wife's reproductive system was damaged because I had sex with my ex-girlfriend in high school, I will be crushed. Is it possible she could have had silent PID and related damage for 10 years?

I feel like we have already been through so much, and now this.

This must be such a shock. Maybe for starters you should get tested too, as a kind of double check? And then have a talk with your doc? She should talk with her GYN. They should be able to do tests to determine if there is any damage and if so how extensive.

Don't beat yourself up over this, it won't help in the slightest and will make both of you unhappy. It's always a good idea to get tested when a relationship ends no matter what the circs but it's not like you've been out having wild affairs. I'm surprised they didn't test you when you were being treated for the cancer. Did you have an orchiectomy, they should test if you are having a surgery?

You say her "new" Gyno... So she has been to others and this is the first time she has been diagnosed with Chalamydia and Gonnorhea.?

PID, there are a few threads on this have a search through our gyno section, it was stated though that PID can also be caused from IUD insertion, a gyno operation allowing bateria in, has she had either of these?

I don't know if you two will ever have the answer as to how it happened and I don't think either of you need to beat yourself up over it, you both had solid relationships it's not your fault.

What treatment has the new Gyno recommended. PID can be treated, Chalmydia & Gonnorhea I believe though even if you can have children, can be passed to the new born so I strongly suggest she go back and have a full discussion on this and where she is at, etc.

I am sorry for all this bad news for you, but each is an individual and until she establishes where she's at it's hard to tell you more.
