Hi I am 33yr old mother of three children, I have had a vibrating in the pelvic area for almost a week now... I thought I was going insane when it first started... It felt like a cellphone vibration, although I have never carried one in my pocket. I had many things going through my head, for example part of an orgasm, or similar...I wondered if maybe my charkra was broken in that area (not that I know anything about that) but I was surprised to see your comments! this is more common than just me!!!

The vibrating seems to go for 2-3 seconds then stops for 2-3 seconds then goes again... it is like a pulse or rythmic hum... I cant seem to feel it with my hand on my body however it is an unmissible feeling inside my pelvic area.

I am not taking meds or contraceptive and I have never had my tubes tied.

I think I will visit the GP, just not sure what to say as it seems insane! I would like to just show him this thread...

Keep in touch with your stories... I will keep you posted also!

I am sooooooo glad I finally googled this today. I have been dealing with this for the last 3 weeks. It's weird to just start vibrating out of the blue. I thought maybe I'd strained something at the gym because it started after I upped my weights on this hip adduction and abduction machines. Now I know better. I'm 43, not on birth control BUT got my 2nd Lupron shot a week or so before this happened. I am getting the shots in preparation for a hysterectomy in late January 2010. I bring that up because so many people have written about different changes in their life/ body/birth control that i was looking for a pattern but apparently there is none. We just have invisible bees in our nether regions! LOL

I didn't want to google "vibrating vagina" cause I figured that would give me nothing but X rated sites so I googled "strange feeling vagina" and voila, here I am. From reading previous posts, it sounds like birth control, age, weight and medication have been ruled out but just in case someone else is desperately trying to find someone in a similar situation, I'll list my stats. I'm 28... have 2 children...not on birth control...am on effexor...I do have lower back injury...am under a lot of stress...experienced eye twitching earlier this week and today as well. So, basically I'm thinking maybe some kind of nerve or stress related thing or increased blood flow related issue. Thank you all for posting!
I felt the same way. I was here huddled over my PC typing vibrating vagina in the google area ready to have to battle x-rated pop up but thankfully none came. This was the first suggested site!

Parasites? Inside? This makes me queasy and nervous. Could you tell us more about this?

    Question not so good vibrations

i've been having my vibrations for about a month now, it went away for about a week but its back with a vengeance. My doc says its a nerve thing too, caused by trauma or hormones. it was kind of funny at first but now its doing my head in.

Oh my god, thank goodness for this site, my husband watched me google vibrating vagina, just to see what would pop up, sooo pleased i found this site!!.
After reading everyones comments im sure mine are the same.Have you ever been to a physio where he has put the wee pads on your body to send small vibrations into your muscles.Thats what i have been experiencing, small pulses every few seconds...BERRYSUPRISE...Exactly everything you have said you have gone through!..even tried to locate the site by putting my hand there, nothing seems to work.
I have thought about what i have done differently over the past few weeks since i have been having this feeling and its exercise!!,I have biked about 6km-12km a day and it started after that..other than that i am 35, no children, no other issues.my question, how to make it stop?has anyone been to the doctors and asked yet?

    Pelvic Muscle Twitches

Amazingly, questions arise on the Women's Health Board about vibrating sensations in the vagina or pelvic floor at least once a month. I have done MULTIPLE literature searches at the National Library of Medicine site, and other search engines - none of which have ever yielded a conclusive answer. My best GUESS is fasciculations - small nerve twitches which induce small muscle twitches. This would be analogous to twitches of the muscles of the eye lid.

Most of us have had these uncontrollable eye lid spasms ("blepharospasms") at one time or another. The triggers for eye lid spasms are fatigue, caffeine use, stress. Some treatments are pressure applied near to the twitching muscle, or even Botox.

There is another name for involuntary sustained muscle contractions which can lead to abnormal movements. They are called focal dystonias. Most of the focal dystonias include the neck, eye lid, mouth/jawbone, even writer's cramp. The start of such conditions can be after a trauma to the body part - or they can arise without apparent cause. There may be a genetic predisposition. The exact cause is not well understood, but the area can be injected with botox which causes the affected muscle to relax.

I think the woman who suggested getting a massage to fix this is a genius.

    Ladies stop freaking out.

    Get a massage.

    Default vibrating again

I am really glad I came across this site. I have been doing lots of research on this annoying problem. So far, no answers. I went to a gynecologist yesterday, and he referred me to a orthapedic doctor thinking I was having back problems. I am also having some tingling in my legs and toes. No help from him. He said there is nothing wrong with your back. He also said go home and live with it. I wasn't satisfied with that. He is referring me to a neurologist. Although, I don't have any hopes that he will be able to tell me what is causing this annoying vibration. Like so many others I too think it has something to do with nerves. All I know is, it's driving me crazy. After reading all of the other comments, there seems to be no common threads between all of us. It is so strange. One site I saw said to take this homeopathic remedy called L-Theanine. I don't know if it works, but I am willing to try anything to make this stop. Hopefully, someone will have an answer soon. I'm quite sure the medical community couldn't care less. Good luck and hopefully this will end soon for all of us.
