wow
Oh dear God, I'm so glad (just like everyone else!!) that I'm not the only one dealing with this!! Thought I had lost my mind!!
I'm 23, no kids, haven't been on birth controll in almost 4 years, irregular periods, (40+ day cycles), and we're currently trying to have kids. My "buzzings" started a couple of days after my period ended, and I get them pretty much constantly in the evening...when i'm sitting down paying attention to my body. Mine last for about 5 seconds each...one or two every minute or so. It is frustrating, and I'm VERY nerveous. I am hoping that everything is ok...
Ugh...I know calling the doctor won't do anything.

Vibrating Vagina
I found this forum through Google-- I also thought I was losing it ...I couldn't find any info anywhere...Anyone else taking Wellbutrin? I have been experiencing the vibrations since my last period (about 10 days now) Doesn't seem to matter what my activities are - sitting, walking, lying in bed. I 42 yrs old , celibate, no birth control and I have 1 grown child. No posts on this subject for a while- so I am hoping someone will come to my rescue! (You know this sensation might actually be fun if it was happening in an intimate encounter- but so not welcome at work!!) Has anyone found intercourse to increase/ decrease symptoms, or is it the same?

Thank Goodness
I'm so glad I found you guys. I was in a meeting yesterday when I felt a vibration coming from my vaginal area. I thought I either sat on my cell phone or someone's pager (I work in a hospital). It sort of freaked me out...it felt like a bee was inside of me! It only last for a few seconds, but it has happened several times in the past 24 hours. What is this?? My skin is feeling a bit irritating there, but that may be from me inspecting myself to figure out where the vibration is coming from. I have a bad cold at the moment, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.
This is so strange...if anyone figures this out, please post.
I hope everyone's buzzing stops soon.

Purring Cat
Wow! I'm glad I found this site! It started last night at bedtime...I almost went into a panic attack . I too thought it was a bug trying to burr it's way out. The funnny thing is you can't see or feel it on the outside of your body. It reminds me of a purring cat, but a cell phone vibrations describes it well also. And for you guys out there there is nothing sexual about it....it's very annoying and does not put you in the mood for romance. Everytime I woke up it was still there. It's off and on right now, but I feel better knowing I'm not crazy. It's seems strange that no doctor has heard of this when obviously there are quite a few of us. By the way, I'm 46, 4 children, no medications. I exercise regularly. So I don't think there is a birth control connection.

We can figure it out!
THe amazing internet! I was so glad to find these postings. I also have been experiencing this vibration since yesterday. Many years ago I had a very similar one in my leg that went on for some time then finally quit. I never went to a doctor for it.
I don't think overweight, birth control pills, or any of those other things everyone is trying to figure out is the cause. I am 55 years old, have gone through menopause, weigh around 100 lbs (have all my life) and haven't taken birth control pills for many years. I take no drugs of any kind (even over the counter meds).
I personally think it's a chiropractic situation. I think there is some nerve slightly pinched from the lower back being out somehow. My vibration comes every 3 seconds for about 2 or 3 seconds. But sometimes it stops. Sometimes it takes longer between vibrations. It depends on how I am sitting or standing really. I moved around my lower back like I was stretching it, and it stopped for a little. Then sitting for a while, it came back for the 3/3 second motion.
So perhaps just getting your back put in place by a chiro may be the answer. If it is too embarrassing to tell your chiro about, you don't even need to.
That's my take on it. I think it'll go away after a bit if the muscles or tendons or nerves aren't affected by the spine being out of place somewhat. But I'll check back if anyone finds out anything different.

No buzzing
Well I have been to the Dr. twice since my buzzing started and just like taking your car to the mechanic, it had stopped by the time my visit came about. I printed the pages of this forum and gave them to my Dr. She has never heard of this but strongly feels it is a "nerve" thing. I haven't had it since I first reported but you bet if it comes back I will be in the Dr. office, PRONTO... good luck to those of you who still have it.
