Oh my god I actually thought I was losing it! Can't believe there are other people feeling like this, I was getting really scared!! I get the 'buzzing' feeling quite regularly throughout the day.I'm 19,on birth control and sexually active (although not recently unfortunately)! I have no idea what this is but it's so irritating and I dont know how to get rid of it. If anyone has any answers...please share!! I want to get rid of this!!!
I am amazed to sign in a year later and see people are still suffering from this and still no answers. I occassional have the vibration feeling, but not on going as it once was. I really wish there was some type of answer for this. And why dont any doctors know anything about this. I like the alien theory. I wish everyone well with this issue and if anyone gets an answer please let us know.
Not really, that could be really distracting. Anyway, I'm getting the sensation too. I'm 35, no children, but pretty physically active, cyclist. I was going to figure blaming the cycling, but can't assume that after what I've read! I'm figuring a nerve was triggered either way somehow. I didn't really start to notice it this time until I was using an Always Maxi for heavy overnight flow. Since then, it's been going on randomly. It's not painful or pleasurable, just there. Maybe lasts in ten second spurts, reminds me of tiny little jackhammers?? (so weird!) Sensation is further back toward the anal area, but not far up. Anyway, are there any common factors yet?
Age?
Sanitary napkin use?
Lack of sex? (that one is blown by the woman who thought it was a continued orgasm)
Other physical activity?
Thank God I Am Not Crazy!!!! I Tried To Tell My Hubby, But He Was A Little Confused...& Fasanated. What Is Going On? Thought I Sat On My Phone... When Does It Stop??? And No It Is Nothing Sexual About It!! Very Annoying
I've been experiencing the same "is that my cell phone?" type of vibration in my right outer labia. I looked around online and did see quite a few posts on it on WebMD and also on a site called "power-surge.com" that's related to menopause. It sounds like it's one of those mystery things but is likely related to stress (like the eye-twitches the recent writer mentioned) and caffeine consumption. In terms of how to resolve it, I saw references to getting pelvic floor something (massage?) as well as doing stretching and yoga or other stress-reducing interventions, including chiropractic adjustments to the back/neck.
There are also some references to it possibly being related to lower estraidiol (sp?) levels due to perimenopause but it seems like a lot of the people experiencing it are too young for that.
In any event, it is kind of nice to know that there are other people out there with this - it is a very weird sensation!
I've had this vibration in my vagina for about a month and a half now. I've scheduled an ob appt. for next week. Can't wait to get there and I hope she has answers for me. I really thought that I was the only one until I googled this website. The first thing that went through my mind was cervical cancer or some sort of serious problem.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one having this problem. I started getting this about 5 days ago and thought I was trippen at first. Like others I thought it was my phone or there was something on the couch. I emailed my doctor to see if she can shed some light on this. I'll let you know if I find out anything. Glad it's not just me
My best friend called me today completely freaked out about the strange vibration she was getting in her vagina. She too(as stated in other postings) thought she was sitting on her cell phone. Oddly enough, I had the same think that had happenened to me a few months ago. It is a strange internal vibration. It lasted for a few seconds and then would stop. It would come back a few times during the course of the day. This lasted for about a week and then just stopped. I have not felt it in a few months. I am going to the gyno tomorrow and will surely be asking her opinion.
I happened on this thread yesterday as I was searching for information on this electrifying feeling that I get and it is driving me absolutely mad! What can it be? I am amazed to see others are experiencing the same thing. I can remember experiencing it in 2003 maybe even before that. I asked a chiropractor and massage therapist what it could be and they didn't have a clue either. They thought I was nuts! It comes and goes but it started yesterday and if was as if it was "activated". It has not stopped now for over 24 hrs. It does not matter if I am standing, sitting or lying down. It is rhythmic and every 5-10 seconds. Feels just like a mini bolt of electriciity. I wonder if it is in one of the veins in the pubic area. Maybe a clogged vein and the buzz is when the blood squeezes through. I dont know, I dont have a clue, but if anyone, anywhere can shed more light on this I would be so appreciative!
