I have been bleeding for one month now, my gyno gave me some meds to stop the bleeding it worked for a while, then I started to get spotings, I did an ultra sound and it showed everything was ok no cancer my doctor diagnosed a condition called Adenomyosis and gave me some birth control pills to regulate the bleeding. Question, has anyone heard of this? what can Ido diet wise to reduce the symtoms?

I has essentially this, described to me by the doctor as a very thick uterine lining, which simply wasn't shedding with my period. I just did a yahoo search on Adenomyosis and found a good description on the Mayo clinic site as well as an organization specifically for this. They explain that a hystorectomy is probably advisable in only 10% of cases.
In my own case I put on a hormone which made me hyper emotional, I was getting weepy over everything. It hadn't really helped anyway. I had a D&C and an ablation. That conpletely resolved the problem and I've been very happy I had it done. That business of bleeding constantly was the pits. I couldn't find anything with diet or other means to deal with this. The doctor said she thought it was the result of several years of very high stress.
