I'm fourteen, very young I know. I'm still a virgin, never done drugs, nothing of the sort. For about two years now Ive had excessive discharge. It's not constant. I don't always have it, but it's not suprising when I do have it. It comes randomly, not necessarily before I have my period. Is there a way I can prevent it? It dosen't cause me any pain or anything, just terribly uncomfortable. And it smells gross.

    Welcome to the Forum Maytal.

So, there is no itching at all ever?

It shouldn't smell gross and it should only feel "wet" not un-comfortable, it's part of developing into being a woman.

Occasionally there is itching. But its nothing serious. And its not often. Occasionally it just gets itchy down there, I guess.
It smells pretty gross. Smells kind of like sex. Haha. But Ive had it for a long time. And Ive been done with puberty for a while now.

Well, if it's itchy sweet, then I would say you have what is commonly known as "thrush", which does give off a smelly discharge and more discharge than usual and your body seems to fight it and rid of it almost for a while, only to come back again.

This can be caused by wearing tight jeans, stockings, and we "sweat" down there, and bacteria out of wack, causes Thrush.

Your Chemist has standard creams and tablets for this which will get rid of it for you totally.

Haha, smells like sex huh? Cute...

Welcome anyways, in being a woman, it sucks big time doesn't it...

    Thank you.
Is there over the counter medication for this? I would really hate having to go through all of this with my mother.
EDIT: There is honestly, no itching. Thrush, apparently is a type of yeast infection and I have had many yeast infections. This is not one.

    Yep.

Monistan I think it's called, just mention that you itch a bit there and want some cream for Thrush or if they have it, there is one tablet with cream. The tablet pretty much gets rid of it in 24hrs and the cream just makes sure, over a few days...

Can tell you though, your Mother's had it, we all have had it

Try not to ride a bike with tight jeans on, it rubs there and the friction creates the warmth and thrush... Also Nylon knickers, some people can't wear nylon, cotton breathes and nylon doesn't ..

Oh, of course she has. I have had too many yeast infections. Ive asked my mom to take me to a Gyno multiple times. It's just a wee bit awkward.
I do happen to have Yeast Infection Prevention pills. Will those do?

Well, the word "prevention" makes me think that it's medication to assist in you not getting it.

If you are suffering it now, then you need to get something to "cure" it...

Why won't your Mum take you to the Gyno?

Practice the things I mentioned "not to wear", at least to help "prevent it" haha, you know what I mean.

Hello lovely! I would be looking at your diet.

what kinds of foods do you eat?

do you have lots of sugar, greasy, fried foods?

your body is producing the mucous for a reason, so the first thing to do is look at factors in your life that may be the cause.

and also to look at what aggravates it?

start to notice your body and how it is reacting to certain things that you do or eat.

    what's your energy like?

the mucous that our body is supposed to produce every month is called cervical mucous and this is secreted by the cervix via the vagina before ovulation, so around mid cycle, approx. days 10 - 15. this mucous should NOT have a strong smell, it starts off whitish and then changes to a clear egg white stretchy mucous. All of this is NORMAL and is a sign of healthy fertility which is a GOOD thing. but anything else is your bodies response to something that is out of balance. finding what that is can be done by paying extra attention to your body. using pharmaceuticals is just covering up the problem.

I eat very healthy. Nothing sugary or greasy, ever.
Lots of vegetables, so that would most definatly not be the problem.
Its got a hint of yellow color, but mostly white.
