    Hi

I am 21 and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome 3 years ago. I have recently had a check up with my GP and they have said that if I want to have children at the age of 30 then I need to start trying at the age of 26, I thought this was a little extreme as it's 4 years too early!

I just wondered if who else has had healthy children with this same condition and how long it took for you to fall pregnant?

    Thanks

    Hayles x x

    Hello Hayles,

I see many women in my clinic with PCOS and I see many of them getting pregnant and having very healthy babies. I assist them with Chinese herbal treatment, qigong and diet and lifestyle advise. the amount of difficulty that they have really depends on the severity of the PCOS. I would recommend that you follow a PCOS diet which is really low GI but you will be able to find info on the net. Also, start to find out about your cycle. do you know how to chart your cervical mucous? this will make it very clear to you when you are actually ovulating, most likely after numerous attempts, which is very characteristic of PCOS. If you begin to really know your cycle and when you are ovulating it will be much easier for you to fall pregnant when you want to. Seek the help of a chinese medical fertility specialist if you need assistance.

I am 17, almost 18, and I have PCOS and my doc said that if I ever wanted kids *which I do* I need to take metphorman or the birth control pill...My question is... Does the birth control shot work the same as the pill?
